The Controller will report directly to the firm’s managing shareholder to oversee the financial and accounting functions of the firm.
Financial management, ethical conduct, leadership, effective communicator, problem solving/analysis, attention to detail, technical capacity.
Bachelor’s degree plus CPA or advanced degree with minimum of eight years’ experience, preferably in a law firm environment, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, accounting applications and document management software. If no law firm experience, must have accounting management experience in other Professional Services companies using Time/Billing, such as Accounting Firm, Engineering firm, architecture, consulting firms, etc.
Supervision of accounting staff in all functions: accounts payable, cash receipts, collections, billing and new file opening, financial statement preparation, budget preparation, management reporting, cash management, trust account management, bank reconciliations, insurance applications, audit and tax return schedules, Form 1099 reporting and other duties as needed.
