    Description

    Responsible for the Quality management systems, Quality certifications, and laboratory operations supporting the three operations, EOA, Glycol Ethers, and Polyglycols produced at the facility in accordance and compliance with policies and ISO and GMP requirements. The role uses leadership and management skills in support of problem solving, efficiency improvements, new product development, product characterization, and product analysis, and also requires a strong working knowledge of GMP requirements.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors of Science in Chemistry, Engineering, or Quality
    • Advanced degree required
    • Knowledge of ASTM testing methods preferred
    • GMP and ISO methods requirement required
    • Minimum 15 years of experience in a continuous operations facility in the chemical industry encompassing a broad set of experiences some of which should include Manufacturing, technology, and quality

    Responsibilities

    • Quality Management Representative for the 3 plants represented in the block
    • Ensure the coordination of the Quality Systems management review in compliance with relevant quality standards
    • Guides organization through transitions in quality standards (new ISO, GMP standard revisions)
    • Identify and implement process improvements to improve the effectiveness of the Quality management system and laboratory operations
    • Act as the QN SAP Quality Module super user for new products, spec changes, reporting changes
    • Maintain the specification database with updates provided by Product Stewardship
    • Provide CPK reports and evaluation in response to specification change requests provided by Product Steward
    • Ensure CPK reports and evaluation are performed and communicated on a predetermined basis monitoring inbound The Dow Chemical Company and raw material quality

    • Coordinate and ensure execution of the Product Stability program as defined by Product Stewardship
    • Approve new method/ equipment validations including method equivalency validation to relevant published standard
    • Define round robin programs on an as needed basis with Product Steward
    • Ensure proper execution and result reporting including recommendations
    • Monitor ASTM / NSF Compendial monographs for changes to relevant methods that impact The Dow Chemical Company and product testing. Determine paths forward where appropriate to address gaps as identified
